Drumm Farm Market

Baby Sheep & Goats!

By: Anna Arnot, Farm Manager

On the farm, early spring is full of excitement and anticipation. We have made it past the winter solstice, and the sun won’t set before 6 p.m. again until October. The killdeer that makes Drumm their home are returning to their favorite spots in our fields, and we are reminded that the sun will always come back if we can just hang on through the cold.

We have already started our seedlings for this season- onions, herbs, and flowers, are poking their first leaves above the soil. We have peas, scallions, spinach, and kale already in the ground to be ready for our first market of 2026 on Saturday, April 4th. We’ll be open every Saturday from 8 a.m.–12 p.m. Speaking of market, I’m excited to feature mushrooms from Myco Planet, fresh sheep’s milk cheeses from Green Dirt, freshly baked cinnamon rolls, and farm-fresh eggs from a Drumm Farm neighbor.

Keep your second Saturdays free, too! We’ll be bringing in car shows, food trucks, and other vendors to keep our community entertained and connect with one another.

Currently, we have half a dozen COMPASS young adults working on the farm. They’ve been doing great work removing invasive Japanese honeysuckle, testing our soil to make sure we are feeding our community the healthiest food we can grow, and keeping our herd of sheep and goats comfortable in the last weeks of their pregnancies. Expect cute baby animal pics to start around March 9th.
