June 2023 School's out! We all know what that means -- sunny days spent outdoors, lazy mornings enjoying the comforts of home, and balmy evenings savoring every moment of the season. The beginning of summer also brings so many milestones. Whether they made it through a particularly challenging class or earned their high school diplomas, we are excited to celebrate the many accomplishments made by Drumm Farm youth this school year. We're also in awe of the amazing spring that you made possible. In April, you joined us for another record-breaking Seeds of Hope Gala & Auction. In so many ways, you went above and beyond to show your love for the youth we serve. Thanks to you, Drumm continues to provide comprehensive support that is essential to improving the trajectory of the lives of youth. Couldn't make it to the gala? You can still make a difference by shopping at the Drumm Farm Market here on campus! Open Saturdays 8:00 AM to Noon through October, the Market offers a variety of local goods that will keep you coming back for more. Of course, you'll want to visit the goats and sheep while you're here -- a much-loved activity for the whole family. We're looking forward to spending many summer mornings with you! --Brad |

- URGENTLY NEEDED: Uber and Walmart Gift Cards
We need your help! We're very low on Uber and Walmart gift cards. Uber gift cards help young people make essential trips for medical appointments, job interviews, and more, and Walmart gift cards are used to purchase a wide variety of essentials. Gift cards can be dropped off at our main office. Please send any digital gift cards to info@drummfarm.org. Read on to learn more about our new project to make transportation more accessible for youth. |

- We Want to Hear from YOU!
We're developing a new volunteer opportunity to help COMPASS youth access essential transportation, and we want to hear your thoughts! With the help of a first-of-its-kind app, volunteers will sign up to provide rides for COMPASS youth (similar to popular rideshare apps like Uber). One of the most consistent needs for the young adults we serve is transportation, and we hope this app will help make a difference. Please consider filling out the COMPASS App Volunteer Interest Form -- filling out the form is not a commitment to volunteer, and all feedback is appreciated. |

- Making an Impact at the 2023 Seeds of Hope Gala & Auction
On April 28th, longtime supporters and newcomers alike came together to make a difference for Drumm Farm youth. Attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner, embraced all the fun competition of the live auction, and celebrated the accomplishments of youth in the COMPASS program who have reached their goals and are ready to move to their own permanent housing. Supporters who couldn't make it to the event joined the fun online by bidding in our silent auction, which featured dozens of exciting getaways, bundles, experiences, and more. Thank you for showing up again this year to support Drumm Farm! Your impact is felt every day by the youth, parents, and staff here on the Farm. |

- Visit Us at the Drumm Farm Market
It's that time of year again -- summer is here and the Drumm Farm Market is open! Farming has been a central part of Drumm Farm's mission dating back to 1919, and that agricultural legacy endures thanks to your support of the Market. Every Saturday from 8:00 AM to Noon through October, the Market will sell fresh produce grown by Drumm youth along with mouthwatering local meats that are sure to make your next cookout a hit. Don't forget to grab some baked goods -- your sweet tooth will thank you! |

- Golfing for Good with The Rob Ellerman Team & Summit Homes
Drumm Farm is honored to have been one of the beneficiaries for the Charity Golf Tournament on May 25th organized by The Rob Ellerman Team and Summit Homes. It was a great day full of sunshine, friendly competition, and incredible generosity. Both The Rob Ellerman Team and Summit Homes make an enormous difference in the community in numerous ways, and all of us at Drumm Farm are so grateful for their continued support. |

- Drumm Farm Celebrates Pride Month
June is Pride Month! At Drumm Farm, we celebrate the message of love and inclusivity that is particularly important at Drumm because a significant portion of the youth served identify as LGBTQ. Pride Month brings awareness to the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQ community, including those experiencing homelessness. According to Voices of Youth Count, LGBTQ youth are at more than double the risk of homelessness compared to non-LGBTQ peers, and youth who identified as both LGBTQ and Black or multiracial have the highest rates of homelessness. Earlier this month, Drumm Farm staff members were excited to volunteer at the KC PrideFest Youth Tent. The Youth Tent provided information on helpful local resources, and it was also a great space for fun activities. What a wonderful time connecting with young people in the community! |

- COMPASS Program Youth Enjoy the Great Outdoors
Nothing says summer quite like a campout. COMPASS program youth travelled to Clinton, Missouri for a camping trip featuring bonfires, fishing, hiking, marksmanship, and much more. Joined by Drumm staff members, the young adults fully embraced the experience, had lots of laughs, and made some great memories. Many thanks to our wonderful host, Board President Pete Anderson! Check out the COMPASS Campout Video for an inside look at all the fun: |

Drumm Farm has been very fortunate to welcome some wonderful volunteer groups in recent weeks. As part of their Charity of Choice campaign, Burns & McDonnell employees spent a busy Saturday morning repairing and painting fences, building a chicken coop, and tackling other projects around campus. They also presented a very generous donation! Stirred to Action, another volunteer group, set up shop in Nelson Hall to provide a meal for Drumm Farm parents and youth, taking dinner off families' to-do lists and giving them a valuable chance to spend time together. If your group is interested in providing one of the monthly campus dinners for families and COMPASS youth, please contact Adam Wright at adam.wright@drummfarm.org. We also welcomed a group of dozens of youth from Valley Ranch Baptist Church who travelled all the way from Coppell, Texas to volunteer at Drumm and other local charities. They helped out by painting fences, assembling furniture, and working on the farm. |

- Welcome Julie, Drumm Farm's Newest Therapist
Please join us in welcoming a new addition to Drumm Farm's Clinical Services team, Julie Paradeis.
